Procion MX Fabric Dyes are “cold water dyes” that do not require heat. This unique property means Procion MX Fabric Dyes are ideal dye applications including shibori, ice dyeing, tub and low water immersion dyeing, printing, direct painting and more.

Procion MX Fabric Dyes forms strong covalent bond with cellulosic fibres means it is a permanent washfast on plant-based fabrics including cotton and linen. Procion MX Fabric Dyes are used with a soda ash fixative, which can be added directly to the dye bath or used to pre-treat the fabric.

Fabric markers are permanent inks or dyes that don't wash out. Fabric markers are labeled as "waterproof" to suggest that they will withstand being washed.

Fabric markers should never bleed in the wash due to their permanent ink. They do, however, sometimes shed while in use. The loosely woven fabric can catch at pen nibs, causing the pen to hesitate, stutter, and smear your design.
